GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Training
A set of basic safety, technical, and rescue training standards developed by the wind industry for personnel working in wind farms.
The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is a non-profit body whose members are turbine manufacturers and wind farm owners. GWO develops and maintains standards for safety and technical training in the wind industry — Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), Advanced Rescue Training (ART), and others.
Why It Matters
GWO certification is a near-universal requirement to work in offshore and onshore wind farms. Operators verify that every contractor and direct employee mobilizing to site holds current GWO training in the relevant modules.
How Certificate Management Software Helps
GWO modules have validity periods (typically 24 months) and require refreshers. A certificate management platform tracks each worker’s current modules, surfaces upcoming refreshers before they expire, and lets training providers maintain the records directly — eliminating the pre-mobilization chase that delays wind campaigns.
Who needs this?
Wind farm operators, O&M contractors, blade-repair specialists, technicians, and training providers serving the wind industry.
